About Calcula
Calcula is a free, independent set of financial calculators built specifically for Australians. We focus on the everyday money questions: how much will my repayments be, how much stamp duty will I pay, how much tax do I owe, and is it better to rent or to buy?
What we do
We build clean, fast tools that use current Australian rates and well-tested mathematics. Every calculator is reviewed against state revenue office schedules and ATO publications, and updated each financial year.
- Mortgage repayments using the standard amortisation formula used by Australian lenders.
- Stamp duty schedules for all eight states and territories, including current first home buyer concessions.
- ATO 2025–26 individual tax brackets, including resident and non-resident rates and the 2% Medicare levy.
- Debt payoff using the snowball and avalanche methods.
- Rent vs buy comparisons that account for property growth, rental increases and the opportunity cost of a deposit.
How we make money
Calcula is funded by display advertising. We do not sell your data, and we do not earn commissions or referral fees from banks, lenders, insurers or financial advisers. The numbers you see are not influenced by who pays us.
